At The Bangor YMCA Wilderness Center at Camp Jordan, we pride ourselves on providing a staff that live out the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. Every staff person receives extensive training, preparing them to provide the best possible physical and emotional environment for your child. All counselors are First Aid and CPR certified, and we employ two live-in health professionals and have an MD on call for reference to ensure that every camper’s medical needs are met at all times. Our Adventure Seekers staff are also registered Maine Youth Trip Leaders and certified Wilderness First Responders.

Hi! My name is Jayci Fournier, or as many campers know me, Orca. I have been working at Camp Jordan for the last seven years and have not missed a summer since I was 10 years old! I cannot imagine working anywhere else.
I have learned in my summers at Camp Jordan that camp brings out the best in people. It is a place where kids and staff can let their guard down and truly be themselves! It’s a place where a cabin of 12 kids enters the week as strangers and leaves at the end as best friends. My goal is that somewhere between canoeing in the middle of Branch Lake, testing your limits at the Ropes Course and sitting having good conversation in the Arts and Crafts cabin every person that comes to camp finds acceptance, new experiences and friendships that last a lifetime. That to me is what camp is all about.
ADVENTURE PROGRAM DIRECTOR
John first came to Camp Jordan as a Leaders School camper. Since that first day of camp I have returned almost every summer for the last 16 years.
Our guided trips on the Allagash River are his very favorite part of the Camp Jordan experience. The solitude, friendship, and adventure that can be found on that stretch of river keep bringing John back to the Allagash year after year, and he loves to share that experience through our Adventure Seekers Program.
John's favorite spot at Camp Jordan is on the Ropes Course, helping campers build teamwork, leadership skills, and pushing themselves to achieve great things!
